Grant’s Triple Good Sessions – Durban Edition

On the 24th of February, I was invited to experience the Grant’s Triple Good Sessions. Following the first instalment in Johannesburg last year, the exclusive, invite-only experience aimed at bringing crews together kicked off its coastal leg this year, having returned to Durban last month.
After my little relocation stint, this was my first ever Durban event and I can definitely vouch for Grant’s Whisky when I say they really know how to throw a party for the masses.
Winner of the Gold medal at IWSC 2020 & 2021, and the world’s best blended scotch whisky at the IWSC in 2019 (one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions), Grant’s Triple Wood 12, the brands latest addition, is a creamy, fruity spirit that is aged in three barrels for a minimum of 12 years before blending, resulting in a rich, complex, final product.
Grant’s’ liquid gold, however, is not the only thing that sets them apart. Their experiences are just as legendary and aim to impress. This year’s instalment started off with a Durban leg hosted at Cuba Lounge BLK at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban. The festivities saw guests treated to Grant’s premium whisky and a fine-dining experience, accompanied by a heavy hitter music line-up including headliners, TKZee, DJ Tira, Professor and DJ Funky Soul.
“Grant’s is all about collective achievement and bringing people together to celebrate their successes together no matter how big or small, which is why friendship is at the heart of what we do,” said Thenjiwe Mabope, South African brand manager for Grant’s Whisky. “These are not just events for us. They are experiences that encapsulate the importance of people coming together and segues to lifelong relationships with Grant’s at the centre,” she adds.
The next Grant’s Triple Good Sessions event will be held at The Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town on 25 March 2022. To gain entry into the experience, fans can buy a bottle of Grant’s and post it on social media using the hashtag #GrantsTripleGoodSessions.
